The first of 25 pcs . ANTARIS 4.5 kW / 48VDC small wind turbines on the way to Russia.
The systems are deployed nationwide off-grid, either as stand-alone or in hybrid system with a PV system and a diesel generator in the energy container.

Their bigger sister, the ANTARIS 6.5 kW, 3-phase works there with Sunny Iceland. The AC coupling concept for island networks has proven itself worldwide in many systems in recent years. It is distinguished from conventional concepts through a series of advantages in terms of plant design and construction (design, installation, expandability and compatibility), and it simultaneously reduces the specific system costs. Especially in the electrification of off-grid, remote areas it allows the construction of a future-proof and flexible power supply. Further, under planning projects show the world how important this new technology when configuring an economically working alone grid systems is already and will be in the future. The quality of the power supply in AC -coupled systems is at least equivalent to that in public networks.

Foundations for a successful use of the ANTARIS Small Wind Turbines

The BRAUN Windturbinen GmbH professionally competent informed about the topic Small Wind Turbines. In this workshop the basics of small wind turbines were first treated generally. Subsequently, individual subjects were deepened, such as approval processes, construction law, protection of species, siting. In the second Part , after the lunch , the ANTARIS wind turbine of the technical manager of the BRAUN Windturbinen GmbH was presented. Here, the development and working with the new Einspeiseumrichtern explained next to the ANTARIS small wind turbine, this was supported by illustrative videos. The presentation and the discussions were held to the highest professional level. Respect and appreciation to all the participants here , of course, received each a handout.

Unfortunately, not all applications will be considered, since the number of participants is limited. The next workshop will take place in April 2014, the exact date we give yet known. We already take into account your appointment now!

Die Anlage hat eine Nabenhöhe von 24 m und arbeitet mit dem Smart!wind 7.5 kW.
Der Standort ist im PLZ Gebiet 59…
Bemerkenswert hierbei ist der Fundamentbau, da dieses in einen aufgeschütteten Schallschutzdamm integriert wurde.
Dies ist die 3. Anlage in der Region innerhalb eines Jahres, 5 weitere sind in 2014 geplant.
Aktuell erfolgen die ersten Bauarbeiten für den Aufbau der neuen ANTARIS 9.5 kW.

Der Kunde hatte zuvor bereits einige andere Kleinwindanlagen aufgebaut.
Die Qualität der ANTARIS hat ihn nach erfolgter Montage und Inbetriebnahme nach eigenem Bekunden sehr beeindruckt.

Montageaufbau ANTARIS 4.5 kW Netzparallel

Montageaufbau von der ANTARIS 4.5 kW netzparallel auf einem 14 m hohen Kippmasten in PLZ Gebiet 19…. .
Die Turbine arbeitet 3-phasig netzparallel mit einem Smart!wind 5.5 kW.
Trotz Problemen während der Genehmigungsphase konnte das Projekt erfolgreich zum Abschluß gebracht werden.
Bemerkenswert hierbei war die gute Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem Bauherrn, der Architektin und der BRAUN Windturbinen GmbH.
Die Anlage kann gerne besichtigt werden, inkl. einer kompetenten Beratung vor Ort.
Allzeit eine Brise Wind auf dem Repeller wünscht das Team von BRAUN Windturbinen.

ANTARIS 6.5 kW Kleinwindanlage in Bayern im Landkreis Miesbach

Sowie die Jahre zuvor, werden auch in 2014 wieder die meisten ANTARIS Anlagen in Bayern aufgebaut.
Dies ist in diesem Jahr die 7. Anlage, in Summe werden es wohl 15 Stck. in 2014 werden.
Bayern ist damit bundesweit vorne.
Die Anlage arbeitet auf einem 24 m Gittermasten 3-phasig netzparallel, mit einem Smart!wind Inverter 7.5 kW.
Der Repellerdurchmesser beträgt 5.3 m, die Generatorleistung beträgt 11.0 kW.

Die Generatoren der BRAUN Windturbinen GmbH werden weltweit ausgeliefert

Rund 300 Generatoren der CK-Reihe verlassen jedes Jahr das Unternehmen. Davon wird mehr als die Hälfte in Wasserrädern, Blockheizkraftwerken oder Selbstbauanlagen verbaut. Ca. 120 Stk. davon stecken in den ANTARIS Kleinwindanlagen.
Das Magnetfeld hat die aktuell höchste verfügbare Leistung bei einer Temperaturbeständigket bis 150°C. Bei allen Baugrößen werden verstärkte Lager verbaut, die Welle besteht aus einem hochfesten Werkstoff mit höchster Passgenauigkeit.
Beste Qualität zu einem fairen Preis machen die Generatoren auch im asiatischen Raum immer beliebter.
Sonderwicklungen sind für uns kein Problem und werden ohne Mehrkosten ausgeführt.

In the years 2009 – 2014 were about 85 pcs. ANTARIS small wind turbines in the power range from 2.5 kW – 4.5 kW built.

At that site a bat report could be dispensed, because it was the first site where a bat protection box was installed.

ANTARIS horizontal vs vertikal!

Auch hier wurde wieder ein Vertikalachser abgebaut und gegen eine ANTARIS 6.5 kW getauscht.
Erstmals sieht der Kunde nun was möglich ist und umso größer ist die Freude an der Stromproduktion.
Die ANTARIS 6.5 kW arbeitet hier netzparallel und im Heizbetrieb mit einem 6.0 kW Heizstab.
Hierbei besteht auch die Möglichkeit eine Leistungsbegrenzung am Smart!wind einzustellen, z. B. 3.5 kW.
Ist die produzierte Leistung höher als 3.5 kW, wird der Überschuß über den Heizstab abgeführt und dient der Brauchwassererwärmung.
Hierdurch wird möglichst wenig Energie in das öffentliche Stromnetz abgeführt und ist somit deutlich wirtschaftlicher als mit einem Stromspeicher (Akkubank) zu arbeiten.

New sustainable wind turbines for Airwave Network

Airwave has installed new wind turbines on three of its base sites in Scotland with a further 20 sites being evaluated as part of an ongoing sustainable upgrade of the Airwave Network.

Operational since the end of June 2013, the three Antaris 2.5 kW Braun Windturbinen units, installed by Harringtons, are fully functional and have already recorded significant operational savings.

The remote location of the sites had previously presented the challenge that none of them had access to mains electricity and therefore relied solely on diesel generators.

According to Martin Benké, Network Operations Director, Airwave: “We tested a number of different solutions for a sustainable power source. Each product was stress-tested according to our stringent demands for durability, sustainability, as well as the associated maintenance.”

By further combining the new wind turbines with an LPG generator, instead of the more traditional diesel generator, the generator can cycle intermittently as opposed to being permanently on. This has resulted in a reduction of operational costs for these base sites of 60%.

We have calculated that the generators are now only running for 2-3% of the time instead of permanently being in use. This is an additional long-term saving in terms of maintenance costs.  (Martin Benké, Network Operations Director, Airwave)

To extend the battery life and prevent overcharging, each site has also been fitted with high-capacity lithium batteries, which have been integrated into the system and are now being used to control when the generator is turned on and off.

“We continue to conduct live testing on the three sites to further improve the viability of the solution. In addition, we are currently evaluating 20 sites to see whether they are suitable for conversion. The factors that we consider include a high level of sustainability and how the location and sensitivity of the site can benefit from the swap out,” concludes Martin.
